DIG AND CRIME BRANCH BEGINS THE BALI INCIDENT INVESTIGATION

PANJIM: The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Vijay Singh along with Superintendent of Police of Crime Branch, Panjim, Mr Mangaldas Desai and a team of police officers of Crime Branch on Wednesday visited Cuncolim police station in connection with the investigations of cases registered with regards to Bali violence during agitation by United Tribals Associations Alliance.
Mr Singh along with entire team including the investigating police officers of Crime Branch, also visited the site where two tribals were killed in violence in Bali village.
Sources in the Crime Branch said that the team inspected the site where two tribals were burnt to death at Bali and later discussed on the various offences registered in connection with the violence. It is learnt that Mr Singh enquired about the progress in investigations. PIs, Mr Raul Parab, Mr Pravin Kumar Vasta, Mr Nenath, Mr R Shetgaonker and others were present on the occasion.
Sources said that the investigating officers also questioned people from both groups but made no arrest. Police said that though Mr Prashant Faldessai was summoned but he did not report at the police station.
Crime Branch, Panjim has constituted teams of police officers from crime section in order to investigate these cases registered by Cuncolim police and handed over to Crime Branch.
Sources said that the Crime Branch has started the process of recording statements of police staff as well as people who were present on the day of agitation. Police have recorded several statements including that of Dipak Faldesai whose anticipatory bail application was rejected by the fast track court.
