AN IMMORAL MICKKY NOT WANTED IN NCP ANY MORE

PANJIM: Taking strong view as regards the recent anti-party statements of its MLA, Mr Francisco Xavier Pacheco alias Mickky, the members of the state executive committee of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday said that the Immoral Benaulim MLA is a liability to the NCP and if he feels that the NCP is unjust to him, then he should quit the party and form his own political group.

The state executive committee of the NCP met under the leadership of the state NCP president, Mr Surendra Sirsat and discussed various issues of state importance as well as those linked to the party.  It may be recalled that Mr Pacheco had recently stated that the Congress-NCP ruling alliance in the state as well as at the Centre has been looting the public exchequer.

Later, speaking to ‘The Navhind Times,’ the state spokesperson of the party, Mr Avinash Bhonsle said that the state executive committee condemned the highly irresponsible statements of the Benaulim MLA, and has taken its cognisance in a very serious manner.   "The meeting also passed a resolution supporting constitution of a state level committee by the government for advising the government on the issue of giving government grants to the English primary schools," he added, pointing out that the state executive committee of the NCP is of the opinion that this committee should have experts in the field of education as well as parents as its members.

"The state executive members thought that setting up of such a committee was mandatory as there is a division in the opinion of people over the issue," Mr Bhonsle said, noting that the resolution would be immediately handed over to the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary for further action. "We feel that the expert opinion in this case would resolve the issue," he informed.

Speaking further the state NCP spokesperson said that a report has already been submitted to the state executive committee as regards the fate of the ‘Together for Panaji’ panel of the NCP, which contested the recent Corporation of the City of Panaji polls with 11 candidates.

"The report has observed that Mr Francisco Xavier Pacheco was supposed to lead the panel but as a part of his designs, kept away from the entire election process," Mr Bhonsle said, further informing that the report holds Mr Pacheco responsible for the let down, which the panel faced. "In fact, there was no logistical support for the panel and the same faced a defeat at the CCP election, in turn giving a bad image to the party," he stated.
