TWO PERSONS ARRESTED FOR MURDER BY MAPUCA POLICE

MAPUSA:  Acting swiftly, that too on a day when a large police force was stationed on election counting duty, the Mapusa police arrested two individuals, suspected to be involved in the murder case that took place on Sunday afternoon.
The names of the arrested were disclosed as Uttam and Jeetendra.  According to Mapusa PI, Mr Rajeshkumar, the deceased Devendra Verma, aged 28, from UP, was stabbed four times in his abdomen on Sunday afternoon at a construction site at Pedem. His body was thrown in one of the toilet at the site.
On Monday morning, while on election votes counting duty, the police received information about the body. DySP, Mr Sammy Tavares and PI Rajesh kumar then entrusted the security detail to Anjuna PI, Mr Manjunath Dessai, and rushed to the scene, conducted the panchanama and swung into action and arrested the two accused, who are both in their twenties and are natives of Assam.
Rajesh kumar informed that previous enmity was the likely motive of the murder. All three were working at the same construction site until some days back.  With these arrests, the Mapusa police have solved the murder case within a few hours of the crime.(NT)

Here we go again Non-Goan criminals committing crime in Goa, Credit must be given to DySP Sammy Tavares and his team for nabbing the suspects. But the Goan courts are too soft in handing down harsher sentences.
