CBI REQUESTS GOA GOVT FOR CONSENT TO SETUP UP SPECIAL COURTS TO TRY CASES INVESTIGATED BY THEM

PANJIM: The CBI has requested Goa government to give its consent for setting up special courts to exclusively try the cases being investigated by the agency.  CBI's Joint Director Rishiraj Singh told reporters here today that a formal request had been made to Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, who had assured to give approval for special courts soon.
Singh said at least 42 CBI cases were pending in local courts in Goa, including the Scarlet Eden Keeling death case.  A sessions-level judge would preside over special courts. Neighbouring Maharashtra had already set up six such courts, he said. "We just want concurrence of the state government as entire financial liability would be borne by the central government," he added. – PTI

The CBI should be made a total independent body, where any  "major" case should be investiagted by them without the consent of the Govt and in the interest of the general public. So many cases have been delayed, sabotaged or either vanished in thin air as the approval from the Govt has never  been granted at the right time and manner to have them investiagated, as seen rescently  the Govt machinery itself has been allegedly the main culprits and they have all the reasons "NOT" to make this investigation team an independent one but rather a "DEPENDANT" one so that they can manupulate the system.
