BBSM GIVES CM A BLACK FLAG WELCOME FOR THE INAUGURATION OF SPORTS COMPLEX AT BORIMOL

MARGAO: Activists and supporters of Bhartiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) descended upon the venue of the inauguration of the sports complex at Borimol, Quepem, on Sunday and welcomed chief minister Digambar Kamat with black flags and anti-government slogans. The protestors, were however, not allowed to come any closer to the venue by the police.
The modern sports complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities was inaugurated at the hands of Kamat, in the presence of PWD minister Churchill Alemao, urban development minister Joaquim Alemao, sports minister Manohar 'Babu' Azgaonkar, speaker Pratapsing Rane, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, Quepem MLA Chandrakant 'Babu' Kavlekar, besides others.
The sports complex includes a football ground, jogging track, gymnasium, indoor multipurpose hall for games like badminton and table tennis, and a swimming pool.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamat lauded the efforts of Kavlekar in executing the project. Addressing the gathering, Kavlekar, while expressing his happiness over the inauguration of the project, said that two more projects-a modern bus stand and a market complex-would soon come up at Quepem.
An inaugural match between Churchill Brothers and Dempo was held at the football ground after the inaugural programme.
