BBSM ACTIVISTS ARRESTED UNDER SECTION 151 OF Cr.P.C.

PANJIM: Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) activists on Friday staged a dharna outside Kala Academy, Panjim, a few minutes before chief minister Digambar Kamat could arrive to launch the diabetes registry in the state. BBSM was protesting the government's decision to provide grants to English medium primary schools.
Some 15 slogan shouting BBSM activists were arrested under Section 151 (preventive arrests) of CrPC by Panjim police who feared they would try to disrupt or create trouble during the function.
Of those placed under preventive arrest, four are Corporation of City of Panjim (CCP) councilors - Krishna Sukerkar, Shekhar Degvekar, Sweta Lotlikar and Vaidehi Naik. Also arrested was former Panjim mayor Ashok Naik.
A police team led by DySP Deu Benaulikar requested the agitators to clear the way and protest outside the Kala Academy premises as the CM and health minister Vishwajit Rane were due to arrive at the venue within minutes.
"As they refused to move from the spot, we had no choice but to forcibly remove them by putting them in the police van. They were taken to the police station, where they were later placed under preventive arrest," sources said.
Opposition leader Manohar Parrikar later arrived at the police station with other BBSM supporters and refused to leave till the arrested persons were released.
They were at the police station for nearly two and half hours and shouted slogans against the CM. Around 12 am, PI Ramesh Gaonkar informed those arrested they had been released, but the activists refused to leave till Benaulikar arrived at the police station. They left after SP Arvind Gawas and Benaulikar met the activists at the police station.
Later, in the evening BBSM activists protested at NIO in Dona Paula at another government function, but were stopped near NIO circle. A few activists also protested outside PDA colony at Porvorim, by shouting slogans.

If I had the chance I would put these pro-Maharashtra ghanttis in gas chambers  ...a la Adolf Hitler .Some of our readers may find this too extreme, but only an Adolf Hitler can save our beloved Goa now from being being sold by our garbage politicians to Ghanttis....that is whatever little is left of Goa.

Hi Shambuswamy: I think the majority of Goans share in your sentiments.
When Goa is currenlyly being ruled by a Puppet called Digamber Kamat, what can one expect.
What about the spare Puppets he has in his Cabinet.

If Goan politicians were true gentlemen and ladies these, these non-Goan Ghantis and right wing Organisations would never have stepped on Goan Soil. It is never too late.
