GOA COPS WHO COULD NOT CATCH MICHAEL MANAGE TO CATCH ‘6 TERRORISTS’

MARGAO: While the Goa police have been unable to catch fugitive Michael Fernandes who has yet again escaped from police custody, the force was able to nab "six terrorists" at three strategic locations in a mock operation within hours of an alert being sounded.
While the police personnel were satisfied, the public complained about traffic jams at several places in North Goa and inconvenience due to nakabandis at crucial points as a result of a coastal security exercise, 'Sagar Kavach', which started on Wednesday.
South Goa too was on high alert. While nakabandis were conducted at various places, barricades were installed in a number of areas, including the Zuari bridge and there was strict monitoring of vehicles along the road.
People entering into police stations were frisked by constables. Security was beefed up in the coastal areas and around starred hotels. However, the authorities said that the public had been requested in advance to take note of 'Sagar Kavach' during which nakabandis would hinder the movement of vehicular traffic.
The exercise-to check Goa's preparedness in the event of a terror attack-was conducted by the Indian Coast Guard, the Indian Navy, the Central Industrial Security Force, the Mormugao Port Trust, the Goa police, the captain of ports and state fisheries and tourism departments.
As per the plan, the coast guard selected 25 to 30 of their men to pose as terrorists and attack strategic locations in the state.
The police, along with the rest of the authorities, were given the task of nabbing the "terrorists" before they attacked. "At three locations, the "terrorists" were apprehended by the police before they could reach the target. The police caught two "terrorists" who were planning to strike at the Secretariat in Porvorim, two others were caught before they could strike at the Mangueshi temple in Ponda and another two were arrested at Old Goa," sources said.
Though the operation-being held in in Goa since 2009- proved that the police were alert, it also exposed that the men in khaki don't have enough equipment to fight terror. "Most of the police personnel who were part of the operation that involved catching the "terrorists", were not wearing bulletproof jackets," said a source, who was part of the operation.

The reality of it is the Goa Police may have some what scrapped through this mock drill........barely, but given to face the reality they will be doomed. What can one expect when all high up positions in the department are accquired not on merit but rather financial might. Micheal's case is a good example to highlight the plight of how proffesional our police force is.The entire police force is manipulated by the politicians to fit their agenda.

Goa Police and terrorists?? Don't make me laugh!

They should have been sent to Mumbai during the terrorist attack. How many of them volunteered to go as for experience? How many of them have fired a gun? Are they regularly sent on training in Arms, physical fitness, and stamina? Are they subjected to annual medical check-ups?

Goa Police have better sense of smell than their dogs, but only for money and drugs. And Goa police will run faster than a terrorist if the terrorist is behind rather than infront.

They also caught the dead rickshaw driver from Shiroda and filed case against him for rash and negligent driving that caused an accident. They are only good next to Scotland Yard and Metropolitan Police. They also found out that Atala is innocent and the son of their boss is a nappie baby who could not get involved in drugs trade.
