GOA GOVERNOR SIDHU ACCUSED OF BEING ON AN ILLEGAL EXTENSION

PANJIM: Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today accused Goa Governor Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu of continuing to hang on at Raj Bhavan on an illegal and unauthorized extension.
Stating that Article 156 (3) of the Constitution of India mandates that every Governor shall be appointed for only a five year term, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that Governor Sidhu having been appointed as Governor on 6th August, 2004 his term came to an end on 5th August 2009.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that though the Constitution of India does provide that the Governor can continue to hold office until his successor arrives, this should be no loophole for the Goa Governor to continue for over 18 months after his official term has ended.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that there has been no official order extending Governor Sidhu’s term and that the law also does not provide for one.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that Dr. Sidhu’s continuance as Goa Governor was a sheer mockery of the provisions of the Indian Constitution and more so that he was now claiming that he was not a “Public Authority”.

If he is not a Public Authority then why the hell he's living retired life in Public Office?. It looks like all those retired and old useless brains of Congress and BJP are sent to this luxurious and Palatial house overlooking beautiful view of harbour and Arabian sea. This Governor Palace has become holiday reteat for these all past and present so called Governor's who are nothing but mere puppet of ruling central party. They are suppose to uphold the highest Office, however these old figuer's are blind to the bad and worse happening of our beautiful Goa.

This is the main reason, why everybody in Government service whosoever are posted in Goa cannot leave behind the memories of luxury which they are enjoying free of cost on complimentary basis. Who would like to leave this place once settled with all the amenities intact? This was the duty of the Goa Government to look after this affair, but since they need someone of their nature to support them, they are least bothered to take any action. Kudos to Adv. Aires for bring such atrocities to the limelight.

This is our INdian Democracy. We now have our Portuguese palaces occupied by Indians. When Goa is being destroyed and our identity is being diminished as Goans, the Governor quietly sits by. This is the reason why we need to get Goa out of the grip of India. If Dr Jack Sequeira was alive today, I think he would shatter at what we have done to Goa. All Goans have ‘blood on their hands’. We are destroying OUR Goa and our culture. We are to blame! Everyday villages have to fight against builders and mining that is destroying us! No peace in Goa. The migrants have no respect for our land and will destroy it. We have been giving it to them. I think Dr Jack Sequeira would be ashamed to call us his people. We need to ask ourselves, why are we selling OUR beautiful Goa to destruction, and in so doing destroying us, as a people??? We need a Nizgoenkar Governor for Goa!!!!!! We need someone like Sir Menino for Governor. How can we get him that post? If the people of Egypt can rise up and do it, why can't we????
