TWO DAYS POLICE CUSTODY FOR HISTORY SHEETER

PANJIM: History-sheeter, Michael Fernandes, against whom nearly 30 offences of different nature were registered in different police stations in the state was brought to Panaji town police station for verification, informed the in charge of Panaji police station, Mr Sandesh Chodankar.
Mr Chodankar informed two motorcycle theft cases have been lodged against the gang of Fernandes adding an offence which was registered against an unknown person of looting a lady of her gold ornaments near church after impersonating as a policeman is yet to be verified.
Fernandes was produced before the court which remanded him to two-day police custody for further investigation. During the course of interrogation he confessed to have stolen two motorcycles from Panjim city.
Before bringing him here he was in the custody of Porvorim police as he had stolen two mobile handsets from one Mr Patil from Pilerne. (NT)
