Following his arrest in the Nadia Torrado and subsequent internment in jail,Mickky stood up at the Goa Legislature (Monsoon Session)and cunningly stated that the Crime Branch froze his Bank Accounts and his family were hungry and put out on the streets to beg.NOW the CBI has frozen his banks accounts again in the "MONEY LAUNDERING" case so we must assume his family is starving again.
Today he has requested permssion to go to New Delhi. Now his trip to New Delhi for personal reasons, is not for leisure. It is surely to find ways to camoflouge his illegal and finiancial money laundering dealings. I hope Advocate Anacleto Viegas will now extend some benevolence to Mickky and his family. He could start by waiving his legal Fees istead of accusing the Goan Public of being ungrateful of Mickkys benevolence.
Anacleto Viegas you should also get you facts right.Mickky states he has been in business in the United States for 23 years, while you state he has been in business in the U.S.A. for 30 years (from the age of 16) and Adv.Viegas, please tell the humble Goan why it should cost Rs.5 Lakhs to send somebody abroad?.Even after including a profit margin,Rs.5 Lakhs seems like daylight robbery or "EXTORTION". Perhaps you choose to remain deaf and speechless on this issue.

I am not here for Mickey Pacheco nor do I encourage bribery or extortion but that's how life is down the lane in India.
I am assuming that Mr. N. Fernandes has never lived in India if he has, than he has his reasons for not leaving or going abroad. India is one of the fronline corrupt nations in the world and I have seen my friends pay large sums of money to live a good life abroad, so why not if one can efford and expect to recover in the long run. Most of the Goan families are middle class who make their living the hard way.
If he has helped people and they are happy with no complaints whatsoever, what's your argument about unless, you have some personal or political grudge against the man.
Johnads, I think N Fernandes and myself must think differently, and it may be because we grew up mostly in the west. We know right from wrong. It seems in India this line is burred. For a person in power making a profit at the expenses of his people is blatantly wrong. If Mickkey wanted to help people go abroad he should never have charged them any money. In the west this is considered an ethical violation, as it is a conflict of interest. These charges are taken very seriously in the west as they are seen as undermining a democracy. A politician is someone who serves and is a public servant. He should not be exploiting his people for his personal gain, as in the case of Mickkey. It infuriates me that you people do not see that these people are using you all and exploiting Goa for their personal gain. Just yesterday the news was about billions that have gone abroad politicians made by nefarious acts. This is a huge loss to the country of India when monies are sent out. I know African nations started attacking Indians living in their countries after they found out that Indians were sending their monies to bank in other countries, as they saw the Indians as being traitors. It is shameful that people who choose to serve in Goa - India do not do so for the betterment of the nation, but to enrich themselves. This is plain wrong! I wish people in Goa - India would realize that it is not meant to be like this. And your argument is if everyone is doing it, then it is okay for Mickkey to do it, is also very wrong. That means we will never have the rule of law in Goa. Already we have seen the consequences of this with temples and churches being robbed and desecrated. This is serious indicator of a society in decay. I urge all Goans to stand up for what is right! Please! Justice must be served with Mickkey. We can do better, than have a gangster- bandana-polygamist- thief represent us. If you feel Mickkey represents you as a person, then I rest my case!
@johads....Please keep in mind Mickkey was involved in human trafficking. This is serious crime in international law. It affects relations between two countries. These Goan boys are going to these countries with no support. They will be at the fringes of that society living in fear their whole lives. They will be exploited by their employers and when in need of something serious like the police or medical attention they will forgo it, for fear of being caught. It is a life for a young person to live in a foreign countr??. I believe they are other ways. Mickkey and other politicians in Goa should be looking at finding employment ventures for these people in Goa. But Mickkey will not do it, because it will mean he will loose business….do you understand the conflict of interest here. Politicians are supposed to create an environment for investors to come and set up businesses. They are so many traits that a politician is supposed to have, unfortunately in Goa people don't know what they are. They only go by if the politican will hand them Rs 500 or a computer or some gift. Tragically it leads to all of us loosing. I really don't know how once changes a mind set....i.e. just as you have stated above, that all politicians do this, and this is the way it is. My hope is that things can change so that the Goan youth of tomorrow have a better future.
Johnads, you tend to be learned but ignorant of the terminology of the word "help". Do you know what that word means? You started talking like the Gua Police who see crime but won't act, they want someone to lodge a complaint instead. I neither like or hate the mickey mouse and never happened to meet him, forget about shaking hand. But I do not like the way he is spoiling poor Goans, his immorality and dadagiri. There are much richer people in Goa than the mouse those live in respect with hard earned money. Any disagreements?
This is in reference to the comments of johnads. Your own views are self contradictory as the words conflict with words. You say that you do not encourage bribery or extortion and on the other part of your comment, you praise the extortionists for selling a job for over a price. If you understnd the term 'majburi' then understand the situation of these poor guys who hope to BUY a better life and work like slaves to recover the money paid. The fear of losing what is being paid makes them to live a life of a slave. Remember, their majburi is taken for a ransom. Buying something by paying a huge price does not amount to help or favor. N Fernandes is just opening eyes of people who are day blind and kudos to him for writing bravely the facts now and in the past too.
YES! YES! YES! There are always two sides to a coin. It all depends what your priorities are! What is wrong if you bribe a politician to get a government job? What is wrong if you bribe a government servant to get your work done? What is wrong if you grease the right palms to get you out of Jail? Does it not help people? Do these people complain? There are these two types of Goans in Goa, and a majority have their priorities selfish. They cannot understand that they are feeding a shark or a tiger, and after tasting blood they want it every time.
Remember Goenkarando, there are plenty of ways to get jobs abroad, or to get your work done by people who are supposed to do it, without paying them bribes. If in trouble, take advice from educated and civilised people, and do not set a trend that will be problem for other Goenkars.
Who is this guy johnads assuming that N. Fernandes lives in India or otherwise? What does it have to do with extortion, prostitution and goondagiri of Mickey? Happiness can't be bought by money dear johnads. Mickey is not selling happiness but bringing miseries on others and himself too. Helping is different than selling opportunities. So, do not call it help.
Which family does he refers to? He makes a new family and then kills them. If he still feels hungry, let him contact Ratol Baba.
Mickky is starving for sex, he is already tired of the vixen Viola. What is left of Viola? Have you guys seen her? You can only see bones in her. "Tambdoo bhou ani dhovo bhou mickkyn khal'lo atam urleant tim corlam". Only the egg shell is left in her now just like Nadia and her mother Sonia.
Johnads:I think N.Fernandes has made a very valid point. Now Johnads, would you be happy to pay a "reasonable" and "TRUE" fee for a service and a job abroad or pay a service fee that is way above its true or real value and what is considered"EXTORTINATE".Mickky is elected to serve people...not serve himself. He has never held down a proper decent job.Instead he has chosen to indulge in corrupt & gangster methods to make a living.
Ratol Baba has to intervene and provide more information for the readers. Does anyone know the low profile girl from Pedda Benaulim. No? She was wise. Though she was the poorest concubine of the mouse, she stayed in low profile driving high profile cars, silently married to someone and gone off limelight. However, the mouse got her employed in a private airline. And there are more, now one of his close political aide from nuvem is having sleepless nights after people's comments that the mickey mouse can possess his gem. Mickey is starving for illegitimate possessions which he enjoys. If Viola is turned into a carcass, she started liking politics and can be seen planting saplings everywhere like a shameless haggard and her lust is normally satisfied by mathew kentuckee who is another hungry hyena.
Nice to see you Ratol Baba. I was wondering where you are. Thought maybe your business is flourishing so no time to be here on the forum.
Ratol Baba is right in the center of Goa, enjoyed heavy downpours this morning until noon. I have been observing the new found hope Dotor Hubert Gomes who intend to contest against Leitao Alemao, he is already mixed with the Ratol Doser Mickey Mouse, so where are the hopes for CLEAN CANDIDATE against these evil forces? Where are the morals? Now who will vote for this dotor? If a man can dais and morals with immorals, why to vote for such camaflouged chamaleons? Good people identified this dotor now itself as a politician with dual face rather than taking him seriously as a saviour against immorals and corrupt. And Miss Viola is busy populating Benaulim and Nuvem constituencies with cocunut saplings and distributing text books through our Holy Priests of individual churches who are no less politicians. Is it worth confessing with these priests as taught by our religion? I have my doubts. Priests or the clergy was never seen in politics or were associated with politicians, not even the clean ones in the past.
This is just a thought, whom will you vote if you find 3 candidates against each other in the same constituency being Leitao Alemao, Ratol Sonia and Viola Mouse. Cast your vote and let us see right now.
I will rather have Cashew Feni and deep fried leppo or khampeo, sitting in my garden, weep and sob for people going to vote for any of these sheep. How about you?
Ratol Baba for sure.
Anonymous I echo your comments. To add it takes seven days in UK to get a passport via post, why does it take more than three months in Goa? that too still not ready!! The civil servants are paid for their service through their salaries, so why pay above that? The poor are getting poorer in Goa through huge amount of loans taken to send their children abroad. Worse for those that come back to Goa due to false documents. As Anonymous says there other honest ways of getting things done. We need to break the cycle of corruption in Goa, which can only be done through Unity .
Yes Robert I think what you say is right. Because our good for nothing blind Goans will go and vote for these animals again. Believe me these Goans deserve whatever they get if they do not snap out of their "sitting oldies" and throw these thieves out.
It has been rumoured that the Goan Politicians have stashed 1.6 billions in USA and that the US Authorities have started investigating these corrupt politicians. I think soon we are going to have most of the politicians of Goa and India behind bars. I am sure it is about to happen. And then A New revolution of Niz Goenkar's.
Violin is playing the tune "You Are My Sunshine" in Benaulim and Nuvem to her Sunshines, Leitao and Mouse. Will the sun shine for these monkeys?? Let's see how tight are the strings of the Violin which has been played over and over by the Bow of Mouse.
"We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request" was the message that came up..
Please disregard this post if you have already recieved a copy. Appreciate.
I see everyone has a point here but as "Annonymous" states "there are always two sides to a coin" and living and seeing things from afar is not as when one does and lives his life in the country. I would not ask anyone to believe me but that is how life goes on, in Goa.
Goans of the past have been under the iron fist of a dictator until the annexation of Goa by India. Ofcorse, we were better of then but did anyone of the past have their say, Its fifty fifty, yes and no. We were overrun by a bigger nation a so called biggest democracy on the forefront whose leaders were no better than hypocrites. Corruption, rape, extortion, bribery, murders, kidnappings was forced upon us and have learnt to live by it. As a democrative individual I have my say and here I vent my frustration on some non resident forum to make amends to the freaking wrongs everyone thinks I have said. Corruption is come from far and wide and you Goans are partly responsible. Yes you Goans as tourists, coming from far of places have basically corrupted these people in high places. Even the fish in the market place is become dearer by the day is because of your buying it outright whilst the other wait to bargain and get nothing. Yep, the right thinking Goenkar tourist spend any amount of money to outwit the locals for the fresh sea water fish after a long haul of fresh water Salmons, and the frozen Pomfrets, Bangddes and Tarles abroad. What do you have to say about you spending spree on the fish, conversion of dollars to blackmoney and a littany of things. You guys live by the day and can also survise by sandwitches and hotdogs whereas, in here we wait for the next to come.
Continued .....
Trupti Nayak.....The trus Global amount stashed by Indians is $125 Billion.Following the Banking crisis recently many countries have had torelax their Banking Secrecy and Privacy Laws. This is due to "double tax" evasion. No tax paid in India and being non-domicile,no tax paid in the country it is salted away in either. Also a lot of to benefit the poor that has been sent to India has been mis-appropriated by Government agents.A lot of Countries want to do Business with India and are very concerned about the corruption that exists there.
You guys live by the day and can also survise by sandwitches and hotdogs whereas, in here we wait for the next to come.
Continued .......
I would suggest you guys get your selves a reality check. Your thoughts and minds are working and seeing things based on the processes built within you by the West, North Americas or the Scandinavian countries. I know for sure how good these countries are and how obidiently the puppies follows the principals. You are like the Zombies, who are made get up in the morning and pop a pill in your system to flush what's left of yesterday else, one is likely to fail some place. Most of you think and see like the horse who can see upfront and does not realise his mate next to him is down. We can only yap and yap on this forum and may be, get someone knocked off his pedestals but, I would shudder to think in a billion years that anything would move and inch far less, correct the wrongs forced upon us by this so called democracy.
Goa can change its infrastructure from pillar to post but politics divides us all due to the minority and because of You all, obnoxiously, self-assertive cocky guys living abroad and just barking. If I were to live your life, I would have been the same, ie right thinking, sane talking zombie criticizing the reality and facts of many a look a like accentrics in his country.
Goan unity is in the doldrums and is questionable!
@Johnads, do not get frustrated or angry because may be somebody who had different feelings than yours wrote something. You are an intellectual Goan. Do not vent out your feeling in such a way. there are ways of writing or getting your feelings out. If one person wrote against you does not mean that all the commentators have opted against your comment. There are some things I do agree with you, like the fish and the fish market. But just imagine the locally living in Goa fisherwoman who sell fish take undue advantage of a foreign returned Goan and screw him or her. Of course out of pride this foreign returned Goans pay whatever the amount so both of them are wrong the local Goans as well as the foreign returned Goan. But that does not mean you should get your anger out on all the Goans living abroad and are fighting for Goa. Just think with a cool head and see if What I have said is right or wrong.
Johnads:I just wish to make a small correction to your angry thoughts. When Goans come to Goa they are not Tourists or Aliens. In all cases the are visiting family and friends or coming to learn about their culture and traditions.I hope you are not angry with "Cocky" ,non resident Goans living abroad having an opinion....good or ill-founded.As for the Fish that is sold, you must begin to understand that when a fish seller see`s a foreign looking Goan...it is the"high tide" for them to fleece them. The cause of expensive fish in Goa and a lot of other things is down to the Hotel / Tourist / Shack Industry. They want the best catch of the day.The non - resident, cocky forum Goans who are down in Goa for a couple of weeks do not automatically take the best fish.A fish Seller cannot guarantee from day to day if a cocky foreigner of Goan orign from abroad will come to buy loads of fish and deny Localsof any.
Johnads, you feel too frustrated, there is no need as such. This is not about buying and selling fish. This chapter is about morality and immorality about the political swine whom you reffered as "helping" Goan boys by charging above the Universe for his own profit. You posted good and intelligently written comments. Someone or majority don't agree with your mention that the mouse is helping the Goan boys since they know who was this mouse 15 years back and now. Anyway, give me a frank answer, would you allow some stray cow and destroy your garden? Think over. This cow may be helping you with the job of hiring a gardener? How would you react?
You may take me to be one frustrated son of a bit.. or whatever you want to call but I ain't livin up your dream. I live here and am talking facts. From politics to the pauper's kichen everything is corrupt and decayed wholesale.
Talking about Goan unity my foot. Ask how things get organised with the Keralites or the Tamilians when the question of unity arises they will unite in droves to fight their cause. Has any of you genuinely seen a Goan organised rally fighting for their cause in Goa - no, many have not and some find it a waste of their time and energy. Just a handful may join, to save face, possibly 10 or 15 as against the opposition who are in thousands and these are all the Ghanttis with their chor real Goenkar electives. This is what I call uncertainty or perplexity of the situation that our united goans unity is, and is very much under the scanner. Life is too difficult if one does not pace with another on the same footing. Goan majority has fled this tiny land of theirs and the handful that are in are not bothered rather committed to live and die a susegad life whilst the rest of us are fighting for survival with the (so called) wealthy Ghanttis invading from all sides and buying out our Goan ancestral properties.
We in India do not understand the word extortion or bribery as it is a way of life. If someone helps to get you out of the place than you have deal. Rest is history.
johnads, the disunity is when one blows his own trumpet ignoring the rythm. Unity is in understanding and not diversity. One black sheep can turn the direction of the herd but all is not a lion's meal. we can have different opinions on the same subject, welcome to the debate. We just cannot ignore things because they were always done like that, a change could be better when we have identified the cause of failure. This too can cause history. Viva Goa, Viva Niz Goenkara.
Hi Johnads:No one here intends to offend you. They are just trying to put your view into perspective. Many people know that extortion and bribery is a way of life in Goa.It is the only way to get your work done in nearly all Government & administrative departments. However you must also agree that this evil "method" of getting things done is not welcome & shoulod not continue. The people that take Goans for a "merry dance" are the administrators. The true anger of most GOANS ARE DIRECTED AT THEM...NOT YOU.All the people here, are only trying to straighten the slight distortion in your abstract views.
Dear Johnads, I apologize for my remarks if they offended you in any way; I had no intension of doing so. Yes, sometimes we forget about the situation for you all, in Goa. My heart is heavy for the suffering of our people. That's why I get so mad with the leaders who rob the very people that need help. Yes, we all need to unite as one. I want so much for a better future for Goa. All I see is the wrong choices being made. Just today there was a news article about some fool talking about building two big marinas in Goa and how it will help Goa?? Really?....building marinas will only bring the rich north Indians into Goa to take over our land. I am tired of Goa being treated like a rich playground. It is a home for people of all walks of life. We love our peace and quiet. I understand people need jobs, but when you look at all the government jobs, why didn't the Christian ministers put more Goans in those positions? We have a minister of Education who is unfit to be in that position. Does he have a vision for the future of Goan youth? These young Goan youth when they grow up need to be able to assimilate in the new work force. Is he preparing them for that?……. I was happy to see that Arabic was going to be taught in classes for anyone. Portuguese also needs to be taught too ( as I feel our young people should be able to leave if they want to). It gives them that extra edge to get into these countries for jobs. I guess I am mad that these people get elected again and again and they are totally unqualified. I am frustrated, as there does not seem to be a way to beat this system. You would think it would be easy being that it is a ‘democracy’. I do applaud all of you in Goa that are standing up and fighting. And that's why I have castigated the overseas Goan Organizations as I find very little involvement with the current crisis in Goa. Instead I see planning for big parties and picnics on their websites. Thanks to Menino and Niz Goenkar we have this forum. We all need to come together if we are to save Goa…. Absolutely! We are ONE people! I am frustrated to the tee with all the rouges in office. I appreciate the spirited debate and your insight….A lot of us at this website want to help…….help us know how we can help you all in Goa. Thanks to Dalia too, for always filling us in.
Good assessment Trevor, good reading.
Yes, my friend. Goa has changed a lot, and for the worse. In the old days, people used to take advice from the literates of those times. Now, most of the Goenkars think they are LIBERATED; they have been taught by the Indian Government to write A, B & C. And they think they have attained literacy. They do not need anyone's advice. They think they now know more than or as much as the educated people of yore. They make their own decisions without any wise advice. And the wise people of Goa struggle to bring Goans on track.
It is a great pity that our GOA is dying because of such half baked, literate but uneducated Goenkars.
There is still time, if our Goenkars realise that they are just literate and not wise; and not take decisions that the easiest apparent way out. WAKE UP GOENKARS! Let this go deep in your heads. KNOWLEDGE IS VERY, VERY VAST. EVERYONE NEEDS SOME ADVICE FROM OTHERS AS NO ONE PERSON CAN ATTAIN ALL KNOWLEDGE!
@ Trevor. Good thoughts. But...The more Goan youth leave our shores, the greater the vacuum created. Me as a Goan entrepreneur then has no recourse but to employ labor from wherever it is available. I always find it strange that our goan brethren are so comfortable going abroad, establishing associations abroad etc..but the moment the outside labor comes in Goa and starts the same we have a problem. As for our Ministers - they are Goans. Funded and supported by Goans. Try as we may to run from the truth - we have ourselves to blame. I read in some of the posts earlier about starting a party. :) . Problem is that we Goans will most likely meet, criticize, make some noise, and walk away. The Goa-Suraj party is already established and has attempted what has been mentioned by someone in an earlier post. But I reiterate. Educate Goan youth and keep them within our shores. You can do nothing from outside. Nothing.
Johnads or whatever you are..first let us know where you are copying all the hogwash you are pouring on this forum. Seems like you are a little peeved for your shortcomings and being a loser.Just cut your babbling and own up that you are a beneficiary of Mickey's handouts.
