I was going through Niz Goenkar today and as usual visited the Konkani section which is completely in Roman script. I found very few comments on the Konkani section. But I did find very beautiful Poetries and articles there. Goans are grumbling for Roman Script Konkani and yet here no one seems to bother to visit the Konkani Section. No one seems to bother to send good writings to Niz Goenkar, Konkani Roman script section.
Roman Script Konkani section is right here but no writers except a few like Joel Morais, Freddy Agnelo Fernandes and Menino de Valpoi (Editor). Why is Konkani neglected? If this opportunity to write and comment in Roman script is neglected then what is the point in fighting for Konkani in Roman script.
I request all the Goans who have access to the internet and those who read regularly Niz Goenkar to visit its Roman script Konkani section and read it and comment on it. I would also like to request Goans to send more articles on the Konkani Section. It is not enough getting grants to English MOI. At the same time we have to make sure that Roman script Konkani does not die a terrible death.
Wake up Goans and take this opportunity to write to the Konkani section of Niz Goenkar and to come up with comments on it. This is one golden opportunity that we have to keep our Roman script Konkani going on and on.
Vauraddeancho Ixtt is there but from what I saw it is totally biased and will not publish the truth on it. I myself had written many times to them and sent them my articles on Goa and the looting section of Goa “The Politicians” but my Konkani articles were never published by the Pilar Fathers as now the Church and the priests too are controlled by the politicians.
So my dear Goans let us start writing to the Konkani Section of Niz Goenkar and let us start commenting so that the writers there get a good boost to come up with more Konkani Articles.

Hey Joe...years later we read your article and indeed we say "Goans are addicts" so will all readers will disagree with us. The pillar or Pillar fathers or Char-mastic Fr. Coca-ciao are directly controlled by "Modkoikars". are you surprised? Facts are sometimes rotten and so is the city of Vatican (Altinho). Parties are on daily basis on this hillock and you are not entitled in their premises with billboards on their gates of heaven "Entry Prohibited Beware of Dogs" We have proofs of those daily writers on VI who are on the direct payrolls of the MLA. Goans as we see in our daily bread speaks butler English not British Queen's English with their children and they are ashamed to speak in your mother tongue "Konkani". After all it's easy to pronounce "Mummy" difficult to say "Mother....very bad in goan English to say Mai!. After all how Goans pray? Is it Mummy Mary or Mother Mary?. We are proud of your writing scripts. keep it up and tell every Goan the importance of Konkani.

A lot of goans feel embarrased to speak in konkani,mostly once they are out of Goa. I have experienced this a lot of times here in dubai. If you speak to them in Konkani they reply to you in english. I am amused how keralite,tamil,gujrati etc children born and bought up abroad learn to speak both english as well as their mothertongue right from the childhood. The only words our children born in the gulf know are some slang words in konkani.
Emediavoice we Goans can speak the Queens English and the Whore's English too !!! But thats not the point these 40 MLA chores understand the whores English !!! Effforts on a war footing are required to put these 40 chor MLAs not of Y public domain !!! Most of these lumps of shit are holding us Goan in their shackles for over 25 years and have looted us Goans its NOW or NEVER we need people like you to help us break free You and I need to be torchbearers !!! While Konkani in Roman script is being neglected by so-called Konkani protagonists, Hindi in Roman script is becoming more acceptable, duly sprinkled with English. Have you read ads like "DTS-i TECHNOLOGY KA DUMM, NAYA DISCOVER 125 MILEAGE KA NAHIN GUMM"?
English words add spice everywhere. Even Portugal has absorbed English words in modern Portuguese, words such as "site", "offshore", "videogame", "browser".
It is only the Maharshtrawadis who oppose English so that Marathi may be propagated and facilitate Goa's merger into their home State.
Finally, there ARE Goans who want Concani in its original Roman script and not the Devanagari crap!
While we're at it - how about the "government" (and I use this term very loosely here) stop changing all place/town names from their actual Portuguese/Goan spellings to some Indian/Hindi/Marathi variant? I.e. Siridao = Shridao, Agaçaim = Agassaim.
Why should the native Goans accommodate ignorant Indians? Even at the Dabolim airport, everything is first written in stupid Marathi (Devanagari) - I don't even get what the hell they're on about. And what the hell does Devanagari even mean???

Mr Joe Rebello your views are not at all suprising. I have observed that most Romi konkani lovers are only active when some issue of scripts crops up. Then they are vociferous in demanding Romi Script. Most of them will not even encourage their kids to speak in Konkani. I am sure that Romi konkani will eventually be the language of the Catholic Church only. I am convinced that if at all Konkani flourishes it will be due to effort of writes in devnagri script.
Why has Joe Rebello written in the English section? I am yet to see his article in the Konkani section instead of giving his sermons to others.

Joe, you must have hoped you will get some support for your suggestion. I do not think so, after reading some of the above comments. Do not get disappointed and do not be surprised they must be all the MOI supporters who always said we dont need konkani to learn we know it, they are right they know it but the Konkani we are worried of is not of present but of future, if our children know only very broken konkani, in future our grand children will not know even thatand there after you will only hear the death of Konkani, even of spoken konkani. The FORCE is full of such people, some said they even speak English with cats and dogs and even the pigs!!!
