PANJIM: At a public meeting in the church compound on Friday, over 150 villagers of Siridao-Palem raised grievances against the repair work on an existing coconut godown in the residential area of Jesus Nazareth vaddo.
"The repair work has violated the conditions laid down by the Goa coastal zone management authority (GCZMA), village panchayat of Sirdao-Palem and Tiswadi block development officer (BDO)," said ex-sarpanch Cosme Pires. Pires announced that he had sent detailed objections to the Siridao -Palem sarpanch, directorate of panchayats, Tiswadi BDO and member secretary of GCZMA.
Fr Bismarque Dias, who also addressed the crowd, demanded that the panchayat find an amicable solution to the issue at the earliest.
