WE NEED TO PRESERVE KONKANI AND PROTECT IT IN ALL SPHERES OF LIFE

POINGUINNIM: The Official Language Day was observed recently at Shri Mallikarjun College of Arts and Commerce, Canacona. Retired headmaster and state awardee, Mr Ulhas Pai Bhatikar was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his speech, Mr Bhatikar said that it is the need of the hour to work for the progress of Konkani language. "Since it is the official language of Goa, we need to preserve and protect it in all spheres of life," he said.
"The students who master this language in their graduation should strive hard to develop the language because every Goan loves the language as it shows their identity as Goemkars," said Mr Bhatikar.
He further called upon the students of the college to try to understand the relationship between Goa and Konkani language. The programme was arranged by Konkani lecturers of the College, Ms Yogita Vernekar and Ms Rashika Kumtekar.

Mr. BUTTikar says ""The students who master this language in their graduation should strive hard to develop the language because every Goan loves the language as it shows their identity as Goemkars," said Mr Bhatikar." - Its Goenkar's Mr. BUTTi not Goemkars,

And true to the word every Goan loves his One and only Mother Tongue - Konkani, but like BUTTikar said, that every student should strive hard and Graduate in his/her native language, will Mr. BUUTika give all these Graduating Student Jobs? Probably in the Government Sector, at least Marathi won’t be used anymore, besides that what other Jobs will he offer the Students that Graduated????

I come across Keralitie’s here abroad who are Graduates in Malayalam, also interviewed quite a few for Jobs, they can’t speak a work of English in spite of being Graduates, and they are a laughing stock here, we can’t even offer them a Office Boy Position, as it needs basic English Read/Write…. So what do these Keralities do? They take odd jobs, Do you want the fate of Children to be this way Mr. BUTTikar? Its simple common sense, but what to do if your so busy thinking through your BUTT and not your Head….
