SDM SHETYE TURNS DOWN REQUEST OF SECOND AUTOPSY OF CIPRIANO

PANJIM: The sub-divisional magistrate, Sabaji Shetye, has turned down a request made by alleged custodial death victim Cipriano Fernandes' family for a second postmortem, stating that it is not necessary.  The 38-year-old victim's cousin, Cosme Fernandes, said that they have demanded a second postmortem to rule out any attempts to hush the case.
"We want a second opinion to be sure that the postmortem has recorded all the necessary facts." Advocate Jatin Naik of NGO Utt Goenkara, added, "If there is a second autopsy, by comparing the two reports investigators will be able to tell if the results are accurate or there are discrepancies, which will establish any attempt to hush the case."
SDM Shetye, who has been overseeing the inquiry in the case, said on Monday that he does not feel the need for a second autopsy. "They have only made an oral request. I have told them that it is unnecessary as they can get any clarifications they want from the doctor who has conducted the first autopsy." Utt Goenkara members have, however, decided to meet the Goa Medical College and Hospital dean on Tuesday to push for their request for a second postmortem.
Utt Goenkara is also set to meet the leader of Opposition of the Goa state legislative assembly and also write to the National Human Rights Commission on Tuesday demanding strong action in the case of custodial death. (TNN)

Why is the SDM so adamant in not letting a second autopsy? Under whose Pressure is he bowing down too? Are some jitters running someones spine as to the exposure of the falsified Post Mortem report?
Our system is so badly flawed. Where is human rights now?
I hope the SDM can change his stance and let a second Autopsy done. He needs to remember tomorrow it could be one of his own very kin who may be in this situation. How would he look at it then? Remember the saying, what goes round turns around. You have to pay the price somewhere along the line for your inhumane deeds.

If I am not mistaked this is the same Sabaji Shetye who once when he was a mamlatdar tried to loot me of Rs 25,000. I want to transfer my husbands brother's property who had died unmarried and his only brother in our name. This shetye had demanded 25000 to do so. It is very strange to see all the corrupts have come up in not time.
