PANJIM: Upset with her husband for taking up for their teenaged son, a woman set herself ablaze and is now battling for life at GMC hospital, where she was admitted on Tuesday night with severe burn injuries on the chest.
Police sources said that on Tuesday, Rajat Mandrekar from Anjuna had an argument with her 13-year-old son after he complained about the manner in which she had cooked some food. This upset her and she started beating the child. "She first beat the child with her hands and then brought a danda (stick) with which to beat him. At this moment her husband intervened," sources said. (TNN)
