MARGAO: With rumours rife that he is all set to introduce his pilot son Yuri into electoral politics, Cuncolim MLA and Urban Development Minister Joaquim Alemao scotched all such reports, saying his son may succeed him only after his retirement.
“There’s no way Yuri will contest the next Assembly polls from Cuncolim or anywhere else when I will stand for re-election from the constituency”, Joaquim asserted. The Minister, however, hastened to add that Yuri has been actively involved in social work not only in Cuncolim constituency, but elsewhere.
The rumour mill was active throughout Tuesday with Yuri’s birthday being the talk of the Town on account of the congratulatory messages in the media, followed by a free Konkani Tiatr near the bus stand. Incidentally, the vernacular media had reported a fortnight ago that the Urban Development Minister may shift to Sanguem and field his son in Cuncolim.
Addressing a Tiatr function, Joaquim said that he will have to take permission of the people of Cuncolim to contest from Sanguem. “But, I would prefer to retire from politics instead of contesting from Sanguem”, he said, adding that whatever works pending in Cuncolim would then be carried out by his son Yuri.
He told the gathering that if his son Yuri is tirelessly serving the society, it is because of his love for the people and not to contest the polls. “We are forever indebted to the people of Cuncolim for my election. I have vowed to make Cuncolim a modern town”, Alemao said, adding that he would complete the pending works.
In his brief address at the Tiatr function, Yuri said he is indebted to the people for showering their love and him and the Alemao family. While thanking the organizers of the Tiatr at Cuncolim on his birthday, Yuri said he would always work for the betterment and upliftment of people of Cuncolim. (HD)

Now this was all that Goa needed another dynasty clan member into politics. The illiterate donkeys before coming into politics, should have thought over and instead of them coming they could have let their children come into politics. Now they know how easy to loot the Goans and Goa. So they want to continue the trade for generations to come.
Our Goans need to wake up. This has become family business and not Statesmanship. I wonder if they know the meaning of this word. Goa needs to throw all these looters out.
This is a family agreements. First the big swelling pig brings his daughter and now the second pig is going to field his pilot son in politics. What a business to carry on from generation to generations. First it was fishing, then smuggling, recruiting and now the politics. The Goa government will be full of family members ruling the State. These both fathers field their piglings on the pretext that they are doing social work for the people of their respective constituencies. Giving some money or gifts to some selective members of their chamchas does it call social work and that too the money comes from their fathers, who lot the other people in taking bribes etc. I would rather give them a real suggestion, if at all they are involved in social works, let them go to remote villages where their names are not even heard and care for the sick and down trodden and then come out and say they are doing a social work. I would genuinely pat them on their backs. Are they willing to do for the sake of social work? No they will keep the legacy of their fathers and not for the other poor people.

Franco said it all. Why don't they divide Goa into two parts and form their own adminstrations? Give North to Ranes and Monster Rats and South to Alemaos. We can have two parallel assemly houses and governing bodies. Leave Vasco to Mauvin as a separate entity of the State as it is his fiefdom full of or should I say majority of Ghantis? Mote Dongor can be given to the Ghanti Raja Cowmuth. If the place to loot is still short, then Chorchill can go to Karwar and merge it with South Goa.
Many of today's politicians in Goa think they are Robin Hoods. At least Robin Hood robbed from the rich and gave it to the poor. Here our politicians rob the poor and fill their own pockets and crumbs to the henchmen. It seems now it is turning into a family tradition.
Mr. Yuri is the same guy who had trouble passing his 12th standard
To Pedro::::Considering Yuri had problems passing 12th Standard, his father Joaquim must have paid to get him a Civil Aviation admission in Indore (India) in 2004/ 2005.From there he probably got his license after completing the required no. of hours flying in New South Wales in Australia.
His Pilot course was privately funded.
Before a full license is granted Pilots must complete flying for certain number of hours.
Many students from India and Pakistan come to the UK with forged & fake qualifications for entry into UK institutions/colleges etc.
My dear is this the same Yuri two years ago rammed his vehicle into another vehicle and assaulted the driver of that vehicle and left the site of an accident. I tried to intervene only to be told by the bystanders not to as that he was Churchill's nephew. God help those that fly with him more over do we need this type of people making decisions for us? Narrow escape for Churchill’s son in Indore
PTI Indore Dec 21, 2004 : The former Goa chief minister and Congress MP, Mr Churchill Alemao’s son, Mr Savio Alemao (17) had a narrow escape today when a person opened fire at him in Jhabua town near here following a minor scuffle, the police said.
The incident occurred in the evening when Mr Savio Alemao and his friend were returning in the lift from the eighth floor of Jhabua Tower and were enjoying music in the lift. However, one Mr Rohit Verma who joined them from the seventh floor objected to their movements in the lift and told them to stand quietly. When the duo refused to comply, Mr Verma and four others had fight with them on the issue and later he opened fire from his 315 bore rifle at them. However, the bullet did not hit anybody, the police said.
Following the incident the police arrested Mr Verma and seized the weapon, the police said. Mr Savio Alemao and his friend were doing a flying course here at a private flying institute, the police added.
NT Staff Reporter adds: Mr Churchill Alemao, who was in New Delhi when the incident took place, told The Navhind Times over the telephone that his only son Savio Alemao had a miraculous escape and was safe. He disclosed that his nephew Mr Uri Alemao, son of Mr Joaquim Alemao, MLA, was also with his son (Savio) when a group of boys menacingly rushed towards the Alemao siblings and fired a shot towards his son as the latter moved near the lift of the building where the theory classes are being held. An attempt to fire the second shot was thwarted on time, he added.
Mr Savio Alemao is in Indore for the past six months undergoing the pilot training course and was returning after his practicals in flying. Mr Churchill Alemao stated that he was in touch with the Indore authorities and was awaiting the details of the incident.

What news sense does it make to have this photo in your newspaper? Sure you got the money in your coffer, but do you really realise how much of a fool you are making yourself... Savio Alemao is no big shakes... He is just a commercial pilot for godsake and from this pic, it looks like a family celebration, man. Do you realise Savio, that you reducing the Herald to a joke.
Get off your ass and sweat some on the field man and do some real marketing. Stop this shit bud.
Guys, you know how this pic found its way in the newspaper? Goa's crassest political fixer Burman (do read up this link) pushed it in return for the ads Herald received congratulating Churchill's son.
So Savio work man... slog some man... And next time when some journo goes for an interview with some biggie, make sure you don't tag along like you do most times... and ask the interviewee for an ad the moment the interview's over... You know who asks for money that quick, once the job's over, don't you?

Once upon a time there were many Goans who were finiancially poor and subservient to the richer Goans.However the dynamics of Goans society has changed dramatically.
Many Goans once lived in thatched huts / houses.
That is no longer the case.It is very hard to see one these days.
Each time I come to Goa, I see every family in my neighbourhood doing well, reasonably well or very well.Educationally too, there are much more Goans now, that are highly educated.They worked for their degrees...they were not given it on a silver plate.
With this change will come empowerment.
as soon s Goans feel sufficiently empowered by the right Government Policies and most definetly by the ousting of the current Party`s...these so called corrupt Churchills will have to run. very high up the western Ghats.
