BENAULIM YOUTH FOIL GARBAGE DUMPING

BENAULIM: In what appears to be a blind eye to garbage dumping by the law and police hesitating to register such complains, Benaulim villagers once again on Sunday foiled yet another attempt by miscreants from dumping garbage and waste in the village. Youngsters – who have been maintaining vigil against miscreants dumping waste in the village – spotted waste dumping before intimating the activity to the Colva police.
Sadly, the Colva police was initially hesitant to book the culprits involved in waste dumping, but later decided to register a case at the police station. The people are more angry as the police refuse to register the complains pertaining to garbage dumping. People have also started doubting the integrity of the Colva police.
PSI Sudesh said that the police will register a case under section 34 of the IPC against the culprit. This is not the first time that the Benaulim youth have played the role of the authorities in foiling attempts by unscrupulous businessmen from dumping waste in the village.  But it appears that the Colva police are an unwilling party to register the offence.
Last Sunday saw the youngsters helping the police to arrest a businessman from Colva after waste from his premises landed along the road leading the St John the Baptist Church.

What a great Job by Benaulim Youth by foiling the dumping of Garbage. Shame on our Guardians of the law for refusing to register cases against the culprits. They must be having a stronger bond with the businessmen.
