Is the police department giving him time to cover his tracks?
Last week the guardians of law came under scanner for impropriety, lack of integrity, corruption and bribery. It could be act of handful of police officers that have brought disrepute to the entire department but more shameful is the fact that the police top brass is in a cover-up mode to save the rogue cops.
I say that the department is trying to cover-up because they have evidence in their possession where the rouge PSI is seen supplying some substance alleged to be narcotics to two foreign tourist, then is heard that his superiors can be bought over with money and then threatening to plant drugs on a landlord who supposedly wants to sell his residential premises. But still the police are yet to register First Information Report (FIR) against PSI Sunil Gudlar. This same cop in his statement has named his superior SP Veenu Bansal as the person under whose instruction he was functioning. Again the Goa police are yet to summon him. But the police immediately raided the place where the sting operation was carried some four months back. The idea behind it was to nab the foreign and maybe arrest them with the sole intention of confiscating any more videos with them before they were made public.
Both the women who carried out the actual sting have given their statements to the police, ironically even before the girlfriend of Dudu could actually submit her version to the CB, this investigation agency of the police department has submitted its report to the Director General of Police. Knowing the police in Goa they are trying to goof-up direct evidence against PSI Sunil Gudlar so that the truth behind politician-police-drug dealer nexus remains buried.
Similar modus operandi was used by the police in the Yaniv Benahim alias Atala episode; though the seven cops including a police inspector were suspended from service the Israeli drug peddler was allowed to flee the country so that he does not spill the name of the politician’s son alleged to be the kingpin in the trade.
Furthermore in the case of Atala’s video he was shown as just talking about his links with the cops of course he was mentioning names but in the case of the PSI Gudlar he was caught on camera handing black substance alleged to be narcotics to the tourists. This act is much serious then just boisterous talk aka Atala. But the police have not even registered an FIR against him.
The second video shows not-so-good cop informing the women that he had threatened one Sagar who supposedly had rented out his premises to alleged drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu of planting drugs and arresting him. This is even worse as this rogue cop is threatening to frame an innocent man. Where could the cop get the drugs: - there could be only two possibilities one is the warehouse where confiscated or seized drugs are stored and have mysteriously disappeared or second possibility is from other peddlers. But the department is yet to suspend him.
The third video shows PSI Gudlar waving currency notes in the air and confessing to his listeners that his superior believes only in Gandhi notes. This is an insult to the Father of the Nation. Indulging in corruption is bad but involving Mahatma Gandhi in corruption and bribery is the worst and calls for immediate dismissal from service.
Zarina – the girlfriend of Dudu in her statement to the police in response to the summons issued to her seems to have nailed the former SP Veenu Bansal who was then presiding over Anti Narcotic Cell. She has categorically stated that the SP accommodated Dudu in a room adjacent to his office and that even she was allowed to meet, spend hours with him and even lunch with him. And this she says was also recorded on camera. The Goa police if they have any credibility left in them should immediately arrest Bansal for degrading office of SP by allowing a drug dealer to reside in it. But the irony is that the report prepared by the Crime Branch has already been submitted to the Director General of Police even before Zarina’s statement could be recorded. If this is not cover-up operation what is?
Now let’s us flip the coin and one can see that the result is the same and that is cover-up. After the news that Atala was arrested by Interpol in Peru, Home minister Ravi Naik immediately convened a top level meeting of the police to expedite the process of bringing the drug peddler to India. This is just an eye wash. Is it not curious that the Home minister did not take much interest when videos of Gudlar were handed over to him? Till date he has not convened a meeting to sort out the issue at hand or suspend or arrest Gudlar based on the tapes. Nor has he moved his office to summon SP Veenu Bansal to Goa for questioning. The actors in the sting operation on Gudlar are either in Goa or India but Ravi Naik has not lifted a finger to discipline them. Ironically Atala is in custody of the Peruvian police with whom India does not have a treaty but our Home minister is more interested in bringing in Atala then cleansing his own department of the malaise.
The questions before us today are why is FIR against PSI Sunil Gudlar not been filed based on the tapes? Why has he been not arrested for peddling in drugs? Why has he not been booked for threats to plant drugs and that too based on his own confession? Why has he not been dismissed from service for insulting Father of the Nation? Why has SP Veenu Bansal been summoned for questioning?
People of the state need answers for these questions and Goans can be rest assured that we will not get it because drug money is pumped from the bottom to the top. And when rogue cop Gudlar was saying that he pays his seniors, he was telling us about that ladder.

I have the same question to ask as to why Gudlar was not arrested and put under immediate suspension? All evidence was documented in the sting operation. At every corner of the clip he has shown total disregard to the law and a total abuse of his illgotten position.
WE need to know as well who his superiors were in this chain of Drug Peddlers and Drug Dealers.Lets admit in any crime of this Magnitude and nature there is always a GODFATHERS Blessing . So there is beyond doubt an accomplice to it who Gudlar has in the sting operation claimed are his Bosses.
May the Media give as the details and expose the high handedness of our System.
Police personnel and politicians should be suspended while investigation is being carried out in any serious allegation against them. Goa’s corrupt Politicians and corrupt Police have become immune or untouchable to the state Law. Unless we stand united and fight this menace Goa will be the next Colombia or even Mexico.
Criminals are appointed as police officers in Goa. The selection process is not based on merit but who can pay how much. Police officers who are given the selection task are aware that their main task is to grab as much as they can from the candidates. Like Bosco George who is today one of the SP was the highest bidder when he directly was recruited as PSI who soon became SP, DySp and now SP. There are plenty of other officers who are unfit for the job but the bribes they pay to get the position puts them on that chair. Most of the Goa Police officers came through back entry without knowing abc of the law. If such corruption is the order of the day, then we cannot expect a better thing or a good deed from these corrupt police officers or even constables. During BJP tenure, Parrikar infiltered the police force with RSS and during the whole tenure of Congress, BRIBE paid by unfit fellows got him the position. The whole police system of Goa should be binned off and fresh recruits based on merit, physical fitness should be recruited. Have anyone seen Deu Banaulikar? He will need a 2 ton crane to lift him if he lay flat on the ground unable to stand up. The list is unending.
Ravi Naik who heads the Home Department of Goa that includes the Police department was a matka bookie and a man with ill reputation. Baap ek Numbari, Beta Dus Numbari is proved by his sons. Sack the corrupt minister and dump his druggist sons into Tihar Jail.
There is some sought of tolerance when it comes to Racketeering, bribes and dealing with drugs by a Government servant. This is not considered a crime of intensity or of a higher degree. Suspension is generally the norm where you finally tend to rot rest of your life if all is not well.
@ Dalia, have'nt seen deu benaulikar, but i assume his proportions are due to the free food & drinks he gets, besides the haftas, he doesnt have to sweat for his meals, everyhing is provided, right on the table or under it. They actually think that being pot bellied and disproportionate counts for their intelligence and experience. nothing but shambles.

I agree with Dalia...most Goan cops are overweight,Criminals (some well dressed).
If Ratol Baba is reading this I would advise him to see if he can invest or obtain some cheap "FORK LIFT TRUCKS" to lift these cops out of Goa.
There is a logic in fattening up a "PIG"(swine).But there is no logic in seeing a FAT COP.

I having the same question, its almost 7 months and so far no action as been taken the so called PSI Sunil Gudlar. what is the CBI investigating it's clear evidence and proof why is he not terminated from his service?why is CBI slow on this case are they again trying to protect corrupt police officials like Sunil gudlar.i think the CBI has to really get into this case and get the culprits behind bars, otherwise it's shame on the Home ministry and the CBI.
