COME ON IN MY BOAT! by Vinod Naik(B.A. geography)

Not so long ago there lived Peter at a place called heaven on earth. Peter was a very pius (religious) man, used to attend the church services regularly. One day it started raining heavily and the water level started rising. everybody from the village started to flee with whatever they could salvage, to higher grounds. Peter got trapped near the Church.
As the water level started to rise Peter began to climb the church building, he franticaly started to pray to god for his survival.
After some time Paul his neighbour came with a rescue boat, he yelled at Peter " hey Peter come in the boat " Peter told him that God will save him from drowning.
After some time Dr. Oscar came, then Dr. Jorson came, then Dr. Hubert Gomes came.
But Peter was adamant he didnt leave the cross to which he was clinging. Water went over the cross and Peter got drowned.
Peters soul was very angry with God, as the soul reached the entrance of heaven gate, Peter's soul angrily asked oh God why didn't you save me from drowning didn't you knew how religious I was ?
God calmly replied "My son I came to your rescue so many times but you didn't recognise me".
My mother land Goa is getting filled with dirty water ( bad things ) so many people came with their boats to save Goa and Goans, but we had more faith on our politicians, religious preachers, freedom fighters etc etc. the water has reached the neck level any time we may get drowned.
I HAVE COME TO YOU WITH MY BOAT WILL YOU COME TO MY BOAT?

Vinod Naik you have given a great true to life example, But many of politicians' crumb eaters would rather drown than jump on the boat and save Goa. Yes time is running out and we need to make the most of whatever time we have.

so true...i feel the only way out is to build an organization like RSS, just instead of having a religion as the focus, we have Goa as the focus, but if we build a mass organization, focused on Goa and Goans, with 2-3 lakh members(Niz Goenkars), we could then bring any government to their knees and dictate a goa centric agenda, no more delhi high commands...most importantly we could have our own MLAs in porvorim. So much needs to be done, so little time left...land protection rights, konkani implementation(compulsory konkani, hindi optional in schools)....we have just one year left...2011, if we lose in 2012, we will be doomed for good.

Excellent analogy!....we are drowning. It fills me with so much joy to see that it does matter what religion we are, we are all Goans first, all of us in this sad and drowning boat. We need examples like this to wake our people up to the seriousness of OUR Goa. Thank you for sharing. I wanted to say thank you for caring for Goa, but that is something we must all do. Our hearts are filled with pain…….we want peace and happiness back in Goa again please.....Pleasse, I hope the Good Lord will help us, as we need so much help!

To Sagar::: once again, your comment / comments have a hidden agenda. You are being very cryptic.
There is no moral in you comment.
Any Movement for a greater cause should not have " time limits".
The fight for Special Status for Goa will continue, much after 2012.
Goans are becoming much more Politically savvy.
Tunisia and Sudan today may give you some realism.

Vinod, another good example for the Goans. The note of Gandhi is taking some of the Goans into the darkness and makes them blind. This blindness affects the progress of Goa.

@ Chor Sagar
Idiot you are like those people who want Konkani with Devnagiri script. Hindi is a baiya Language.
You are a Chor, who tries to enter other peoples houses with sweat talks-
Goa has a language and that language is Konkani in Latin script for the Catholics and Devnagiri script for the Hindus if they want.
Many chors in Goa have left a back door for Marathi, do you know why and by whom?
There is this saying, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Idiot, people like you can't fool us again. In this day even Gandhi won't be able to fool us again.
And Idiot it's never late to do the right thing, even if we loose the 2012 election, we'll learn more as more and more mistakes will be made to encourage us to come out to the streets. Goa has many centuries to live.
Can you explain, what you mean by compulsory Konkani and optional Hindi? for you the medium of instruction should be what Marathi!!, you crook.
If you want it right then the Medium of instruction should be English, Konkani and Portuguese should be compulsory subjects up to University level. (all in Latin script) those who want devnagiri script should go to Maharashtra.

This Sagar should be taken to Dud Sagar and thrown down from the top. Only then he will realize why his name is Sagar and not Bangar. That's what our beloved Goa is, Bangar. And we don't need any Sagars.
