Traitors - by Abhijeet Naik, Mapusa
A handful of Shiv Sena traitors entered the Mapusa Municipality on Thursday 8 July and demanded that Mapusa Municipality board be displayed in Marathi. What about Konkani? Shiv Sena leader Upendra is an anti-Goan. He should please pack his bags and go to Maharashtra, where he can promote Marathi, along with his 20 to 30 supporters, disgruntled BJP elements all. It looks like the useless BJP Mapusa MLA Francis is sleeping. Upendra, think clearly. Why are you betraying your own mother tongue? You are worse than the Portuguese. Stop this madness Upendra. A true Goan is asking another who has lost his path.
Red card! - by John Eric Gomes, Porvorim
Apropos the Atala-Lucky Farmhouse case, the Police spokesman reportedly said: “We have ruled out getting help from Interpol. We have initiated ‘letter awaitery’ (What is that?) to record the model’s statement. The file will be moved to the Union Home Ministry, who in turn will send it to the Ministry of External Affairs, which will later contact the Embassies.”
He admits it to be a procedure that will take months and adds: “Now the ball is in her court!” Really? Whose duty is it to investigate this drugs case; the police or a Swedish model? Why should Lucky Farmhouse have any interest in busting the drugs nexus in Goa? If this is how the police play ball, the public must find a referee who will show them the red card!

NIZ GOENKAR ADDS: We the True Goans should be proud of the True Son of Goa, a Niz Goenkar, Abhijeet Naik from Mapuca, who not only loves his mother tongue KONKANI but has the guts and bravery to defend it from the traitors like Upendra of Shiv Sena., Remember Upendra that Shivaji is not a Goan and that his Sena can never be Goan. Do not betray your mother tongue Konkani and your motherland Goa else one day our mother tongue and mother land Goa will betray you and you will be nowhere. Abhijeet definitely needs the highest of the praises for this small letter of his to the Herald. Hope the NIZ GOANS take a note of it.

Bravo Abhijit for taking up the issue of the Sena morcha in Mapusa. We need more Goans like you taking the lead and fighting our cause.
My sincere plea to all the Goans is to support people like Abhijit in uprooting Sena Arse lickers out of Goa. These guys cannot live peacefully in Maharashtra and develop that state but want to interfere in Goa.
Our politicians are to blamed for this as they have let them thrive in their constituencies. Goa is Konkani and Marathi has nothing to do in Goa. Look at it from the terrorist’s point of view. They must be happy with us for fighting one another on silly issues. It seems like the politicians are playing the same game of divide and rule that the British did. As of now we dont need to worry about other countries terrorising us but be aware of our home grown Political terrorists doing the job for these countries.
Why does Goa need to have an airport close to Maharashtra border? This is to facilitate tourism in Sawantwadi and into Maharashtra.
With the airport situated up North our Tourism dependent Goans down South will suffer. But that cannot be argued now as most of the property around the new proposed airport is already bought by one montri and his cronies and that is the same rogue who is going to sell Goa.
The most baffling thought is why do terrorists not target the high profile politicians and get their message across rather than killing the common man? The terrorists very well know that by targeting the politicians they will do India a favor and shoot themselves in the foot. The second thought that comes to mind is that they will never bite the hand that feeds and nurtures them.
Our Police and Intelligence units are totally below par and since the terrorists are better trained and equipped then us we should send them across the border for training.
Intelligence in standard terms is having specific information about devious plans to be staged by anti-social elements and not knowing that there has been a bomb blast after it has exploded...Kunbi
