NCP'S BLUFF VISIT TO THE SITE OF INCIDENT IN BALLI TO DRAW VOTES AND SYMPATHY DURING COMING ELECTIONS

PANJIM: One week later, the state executive committee of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) visited both the buildings of the Adarsh Cooperative Society at Balli which were set ablaze on May 25 evening. The party condemned the incident in which two United Tribal Associations' Alliance (UTAA) activists fell victim to the riot.

As the elections are near at hand, NCP and other political parties are trying to gain sympathy of the people and attract voters. The reality is NCP or any other party has no love for the people of Goa and are trying to bluff the Goans. NCP's Goa president Surendra Sirsat conveyed the NCP's sentiments to UTAA president Prakash Velip and assured the party's support to the group.

Stating that the tribals were agitating for their rightful demands, the party leaders said that May 25, 2011, would go down as the blackest day in the history of Goa.

Sirsat also visited the bereaved family of the late Dilip Velip at Morpilla, and expressing his sympathy, assured the family of help from the NCP.  The party demanded that the government look into UTAA's demands, resolve the issue at the earliest and maintain peace and harmony among the Goan fraternity.
