YOUTH WING OF BJP DEMANDS THE ARREST OF ATTACKERS OF NILESH

PANJIM: The president of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJPYM), Dr Pramod Sawant, along with other activists met the Director General of Police, Dr Aditya Arya and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits, involved in the murderous attack on anti-illegal mining activist, Mr Nilesh Gaonkar from Cauvrem in Quepem.
Addressing the media in the presence of BJPYM vice-president, Mr Vinay Gaonkar, general secretary, Mr Siddesh Naik, treasurer, Mr Milind Hoble and the South Goa district president, Mr Bhavesh Zambaulikar, after submitting the memorandum to the DGP, Dr Sawant hoped that the inputs given to the police by the locals and others would help in arresting the two motorcycle-bound culprits involved in the murderous attack on Mr Gaonkar at Verna.
Expressing dismay over the police inaction, they said that nearly a week has passed for the incident and till now police are clueless.
They urged the DGP to speed up the investigation. The BJPYM maintained that if the police failed to arrest the culprits, they would be forced to take to the streets and threatened that the consequences would be very bad for the state.
"The department has failed to put up any defense for its purposeful shoddy investigations," they pointed out adding after the drug mafias, the mining mafias have struck the state by way of attack on Gaonkar, who is vociferously raising issue of illegal mining in Cauvrem.
They informed that the DGP, after a patient hearing assured to look into the case but sought public support with regards to the investigation into it and maintained that police did not get proper clues to bring the culprits to book till date.  He said that the police cannot pin down the culprits without having a concrete clue, they added.

As our law enforcers are incompetent in arresting the culprits , Non-Goan political parties will take advantage of the situation. Goans need to unite against such menace.
