MARGAO: Concern over the loss of agricultural cover in the village dominated the proceedings of Telaulim gram sabha on Sunday with the gram sabha adopting a resolution that agricultural land should not be allowed to be converted into other land use zones.
Gram sabha members voiced their disapproval over the fact that many paddy fields in the area were being converted into orchard lands which later end up converted into settlement zones. Gram sabha members urged the panchayat not to allow such acts in view of the dwindling agricultural land in the village.
Villagers further brought to the notice of the panchayat that many kiosks and stalls have come up on roadsides causing obstruction to traffic. They urged the panchayat to act tough against such illegal encroachers and to take immediate steps to clear the roadsides of these obstacles.
The issue concerning inclusion of households in the BPL category also came up at the meeting with the panchayat informing the gramsabha that in the absence of clear guidelines pertaining to eligibility criteria for the BPL scheme, most of the applications received by the panchayat could not be considered. Sarpanch Rosy Barreto chaired the meeting.

BUT IF CHARCHILL TELLS THE PANCHAYAT, THEY WILL EVEN FILL RIVER SAL AND CONVERT IT
The Three Dream Bridges are built so that all the
Agriculture land can be converted into residential area. That was the plan of
the "BRUT" Navelim MLA. The Panchayat is hand and gloves with the
MLA. Goa will have to depend on neighbouring states on every item in feature.
We have to think of our children and grandchildren. The Brut Navelim MLA wants
to make fast money by selling everything what is left even he is eying on
"SALPEN LAKE" in the name of development. He might sell everything to"RAHEJA" for his share. Don’t
ever trust him no matter what he says.
.
DO NOT WORRY MY FIELD IS THERE IN SALPEM. CHARCHILL AND DIGU WILL HAVE THEIR GRAVES THERE. WHY DO YOU THINK CHARCHILL CANT DO THE SINQUETIM BRIDGE. HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS UP AGAINST. THE REST OF NAVELIM CONSTITUTES BADWAS.
