FUTURE OF GOA AND KONKANI by U Kamat

What will be the fate of Konkani in future? Will maharashtra be successful in capturing Goa as half Goa they have already captured by getting Marathi as second language status in Goa.  In India all states are having only one official language they why two language that to one unwanted(marathi) in Goa.
Goa should be seperated from India in order to save Konkani.Maharashtra is playing the role of pakistan in Goa issue. As whole world considers pakistan as a terrorist state india should also be declared a terrorist state.

I totally agree with you Kamat. What you have written has strong base and no doubt a fact itself. One day half of Goa will belong to Maharashtra. What you have said is correct Maharshtra is like Pakistan to Goa.

Dear Tariamamama,

If you want to know any truth, you can contact me through my email IDs on the site. But with your proper identity and I shall give you all the replied that you asked of me. You do not know any truth, which is our internal matter. But for your satisfaction let me tell you that: I have not driven away anybody nor do I have anything against the person you are refering. Neither did I start the site with the intention of joining politics. I never had that intention and never will. Anything else you want to know more then please identify yourself and I shall let you know the truth. You may be related to the concerned person but I have nothing against him or anyone at all.

Best regards
Menino

Opposition leader and Panaji MLA Manohar Parrikar has quoted UNESCO guidelines that primary education should be delivered in one's mother tongue in the Times of India:
http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-03-22/goa/29174320_1_mother-tongue-compulsory-subject-dialect
Can Mr. Parriker tell us whether the Konkani used as medium of instruction in schools is our mother tongue? The medium of instruction used in schools, what is branded as Konkani is not used anywhere by any Goan. Those who use the Devnagri script have their mother tongue as Marathi or Hindi and not Konkani. It is the Marathi protagonists who in the ruse of Konkani and on the pretext of being Nationalists are forcing a majority of the children and parents a language that is not their mother tongue. It is just like having Konkani in Kannada script or Greek script and telling Goans it is your mother tongue.

These are very fatalistic words! But sadly, very true. The future does not look good for us Goans.....even the present Freedole Farters are in, on this one. They are colluding to make this a reality. Marathi is going to someday displace Konkanni. The new fight for English medium has the Freedole Farters with ulterior motives to keep Marathi alive and well in Goa. The pretence of their undying love for Konkanni is hogwash! It is a cover-up for what they truly support: Marathi! This is our destiny now that we are under Indian occupation. And it is not going to get better for us true Goans.

I have said it more than once, that demand for grants-in-aid for Marathi medium schools is a ruse to get more people proclaiming their mother tongue to be Marathi and thus fulfill the long cherished dream of merger of Goa into Maharashtra if and when this state manages to grab Belgaum District and neighbouring Konkani speaking areas from Karnataka.
Remember that Maharashtra had appealed to the Supreme Court that these areas should be transferred to Maharashtra because Maharashtra already had Konkani speaking areas (Konkan)?

Well said Menino, your motives are very clear, you made a choice to keep your site for the love of Goa. Not everyone can join politics, but true NIZ Goenkaars can support good honest candidates, others are crumb eaters following the scent of their masters. The rest are bully and False Rumor Mongers, wars have been fought over rumors and countries invaded, just like Goa was invaded buy bully Indians with their false Rumors. Menino you may not share some peoples interests or their motives but are contributing in your own ways for Goa and Keep it up.

U Kamat I share with your views in your article, We need to separate from Goa that too soon. If we do not Goa will be divided in two Maharashtra will have one half while Karnataka will take the other half. That is the Indian governments agenda.

The invasion of Goa introduced crime and corruption, the atrocities committed by the Indian Army cannot be forgotten. They have now passed the baton to our corrupt ministers many who are illiterate, who cannot make an educated decision for Goans.

After fighting during opinion poll I have seen many organizations come and vanish in thin air, but true friends always remain. One such friend is Diogo my comrade and family friend who introduced me to your site, at first I brushed it aside but my son didn't he read a few articles to me. What astonished me is that the articles were true and not censored which has inspired me to follow it. Please keep it up and ignore those that criticism or condemn you.Criticism comes from those that are paid or connected to oppose your site and it can only be the corrupt politicians and their crumb eaters.

We must separate from India. I have to thank Sir Menino and the great folks here that supply the facts for our separation. Facts that are suppressed by our occupiers - India. Nowhere in India you can find these facts, instead we have spies, Agents to work for our occupiers, the present Freedole Farters and their associates, the dirty politicians. The Herald dare not print any of these facts, as it is an INDIAN newspaper and not a Goan newspaper. It is scared of the truth. Shameful, when a newspaper should be about the truth. Shameful, when you see journalists in Libya on the frontlines dying to bring the truth. India has been doing a fantastic job of suppressing the facts from the people of Goa. It has been successful with its propaganda campaign with the help of the Freedole Farters, the corrupt politicians, and a newspaper like the Herald. Sadly we have our own Goans who are RSS sympathizers that put their agenda ahead of their Goan identity. They are willing for forgo all for a one India with one religion. This is a known fact to my Hindu and Muslim Goan brothers and sisters here. The trend is moving that way, and India is going to be in a whole lot of trouble for forcing its ideology on its people. We know now too that the elections are rigged. Sadly I believe our people are not ready. The rejoicing in the streets of Goa, when India won the cricket match is an indication of too many Goans who do not believe we are being OCCUPIED. A day will come when they will wake up, but it may be too late, by then they will be loaded on busses for distant camps.
