HEALTH MINISTER ADMITS MISTAKE OF BUYING VANS WITH MAMMOGRAPHY FACILITY AT ONE GO

PANJIM: The Health Minister, Mr Vishwajeet Rane on Thursday admitted mistake on the part of the health department in purchasing two mobile clinic vans with mammography facilities at one go, both the vehicles costing a whopping Rs 1.92 crore.
Earlier, the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Manohar Parrikar pointed out to the House that though the government had purchased two vans on March 18, 2010, one of them had made only three trips till date travelling a distance of 2,855 kms, while the other had made seven trips travelling 2,999 kms. “What was the need for the government to purchase two vans instead of one, if they were to have limited use,” he questioned.
Mr Parrikar also pointed out that altogether only 668 patients took benefit of the two mobile clinic vans since their purchase.
Informing the House that there were no scheduled programmes of the directorate of health services as regards use of these vans, the Health Minister further said that however, the two vans were used for various mammography camps. “Now, we have involved the Indian medical association and Dr Shekhar Salkar in the entire exercise, apart from visiting doctors from the Tata memorial hospital,” he added, pointing out that the detailed schedule has been prepared for mammography camps around the state, from February 9 to the end of this year.
Speaking further, the Health Minister said that a pro forma would be given to the women as regards the breast examination, and the same would have to be filled. “After this, the women would be asked to carry out self examination of the breasts,” he informed, noting that those who might need a check up by the doctor, would be called.
Responding to the complaint by the BJP MLA, Mr Milind Naik that all the mammography camps held so far were in the urban areas, the Health Minister said that rural areas including Canacona, Betki, Mandur, Madcai, Casarvarnem, Corlim, Shiroda and Sanguem, besides others would be covered in the new schedule.
Assuring the House that the government, in the future would make costly purchases as per the need, the Health Minister said that till date around 50,000 women around Goa have been given the pro forma. (NT)

Charge the health Minister a penalty for the waste of Public money. Wonder what percentage of this vehicle cost was his share. They are not interested in the welfare of the common men but rather the welfare of their financial balances. In the name of development all these acts are committed by them.
The ministers admittance of making a mistake in buying the mammography vans is nothing but a cover up for his greed. They all know their limits but abuse their positions.

It seems like "Vishawshit" Rane Jr. is getting deeper and deeper into the "shit " recently.
Each and everyday he is being shown one error after the other.
I think he should give up Politics completely for another profession.
His sins of ommission and commission are mounting day by day.
As many have mentioned here in comments earlier he is a Lothario.Perhaps he should now consider being a raving "GIGALOO" too.!
