CALANGUTE: Anjuna police arrested a youth and rescued a 15-year-old girl at Nagpur. According to police reports, Larao Patel (27) went to his native place Nagpur on February 2 along with the minor girl. The girl's parents immediately lodged a complaint with the Anjuna police.
A police team headed by PSI Vishwajeet Chodankar was dispatched to Nagpur to trace the accused. The police team got in touch with its counterparts at Nagpur and arrested Patel at Nagpur.
Anjuna Police confirmed that the minor girl was not residing in the house of the accused. Patel has been remanded to 7 days judicial custody while the rescued girl has been sent to Apna Ghar at Merces. Further investigations are in progress.
