The observations were made by the High Court while quashing an order passed by her on 29th April 2009 as Principal District Judge, Margao.in a matter connected to the River Princess case which she had heard inspite of being a former employee of Mr. Anil Salgaocar.
The High Court in its judgment held that Judge Nutan Sardesai had exercised her discretion contrary to the well settled principles of law and that she had committed a serious error in appreciating the evidence in the case.
The High Court further held that Judge Nutan Sardesai had totally misdirected and committed an error by directing the Goa government to refund Rs five and half crores to Jaisu Shipping Ltd even though there was no such demand made by the company.
