GOA PCR WIRES MUMBAI OVER CRIMINAL PLAN

PANJIM: The Goa police sent a wireless message to the Mumbai police on Wednesday evening informing them that they had received an anonymous call about some criminal activity with origins in Mumbai. The wireless message was sent to the Mumbai police control room (PCR) after the Goa PCR received an anonymous call around 7.30pm on Wednesday.
The caller claimed to have overheard "two criminals" planning to "do something in Goa and then go to Dadar," police sources said. The caller further said that he heard the duo whispering that they would be leaving for Mumbai soon. The caller couldn't, however, provide police with descriptions of the 'two criminals' and claimed only that they were "wearing red shirt".
Later, the police traced the phone call to a public phone booth at a Porvorim supermarket. As no further leads were available, the Goa PCR sent the wireless message asking Mumbai to take "necessary action as the matter pertains to Mumbai". When contacted, police spokesperson Atmaram Deshpande said, "Goa PCR did receive an anonymous phone call which pointed to some criminal activity with origins in Mumbai. On account of this we passed the information onto the Mumbai PCR as a precautionary measure. The genuineness of the anonymous phone call could not be confirmed."
Meanwhile, agencies have reported that Mumbai police said on Thursday that they had been alerted by their Goa counterparts about the possible presence of a Hu-JI terror suspect in the metropolis after he left the coastal state two days ago.
Security agencies had inputs that the terror suspect was to alight at Dadar railway station to meet someone. It is not sure if the terror suspect arrived in the metro or not, Mumbai police said. When contacted about the agencies reports on a Hu-JI terror suspect, Deshpande refuted the claim.
"To the best of my knowledge, we have not given any written communication to Mumbai police regarding any terror suspects," Deshpande said.-(TOI)
